Sveti Nikola Island
Wooded island a short boat ride from Budva with pebble beaches, a restaurant and resident deer.
Island with Beaches and Restaurants opposite the Old Town
Sveti Nikola is the large wooded island visible from every beach in central Budva, known locally as Hawaii. Taxi boats run from the Old Town harbour, Slovenska Beach and Bečići throughout the day, taking five to fifteen minutes depending on departure point. The fare is €3 to €5 return. The island has several pebble beaches — rougher underfoot than the mainland options — a restaurant, and a small population of deer. Water shoes are recommended. The beaches on the island's south side are the most sheltered. Currents between the island and the mainland can be strong; swimming across is discouraged.
