Petrovac Beach
A 600-metre beach of distinctive red sand in the quiet resort town of Petrovac, thirty minutes from Budva.
Red Sand Beach at Petrovac
The red colour comes from the local stone and is most visible when wet. Petrovac Beach is a 600-metre arc of red-tinged sand fronting the small resort town thirty minutes south of Budva on the coast road. Two small islands — Sveta Nedjelja and Katič — sit offshore within swimming distance for strong swimmers, with a tiny chapel visible on Sveta Nedjelja. The town behind the beach has a low-rise, quiet character that contrasts sharply with Budva, attracting families and older visitors who prefer the pace. Roman mosaic remains are visible near the waterfront. The promenade runs the full beach length.
